Anti-graffiti reward program kicks off
In a cooperative effort to combat graffiti
in Porterville, the city and the chamber of commerce have implemented the
Anti-Graffiti Reward Program.
According to Porterville Chief of Police Silver Rodriguez, two local residents
have already provided police with valuable information, resulting in the arrest
and conviction of graffiti vandalism suspects. Each party received a $100 reward
for their assistance.
The goal of the program is to
encourage people to get involved in the fight against graffiti vandalism by
reporting these acts when observed and/or providing information that is likely
to result in the identification, apprehension and conviction of criminal
suspects.
Anyone wishing to provide information can contact the Anti-Graffiti Reward
Program at 791-7844. To report graffiti for removal, contact the Graffiti
Hotline at 784-1399.
