Police Say Bored Teens Do Graffiti

Police think bored teenagers are to blame for the rash of graffiti spray-painted on building walls and stop signs around town.

Sur 13, which means South 13, is the name of the gang taking credit for the vandalism.

"It's summer," said police Lt. Brian McNulty. "We do see more graffiti during the summer months."

McNulty said the Police Department is following up on all the leads it gets on the gang.

"It appears most of what they are doing is spray-painting their name on walls," he said.

The vandalism has Main Street Director Joy Pruitt seeing red.

"I don't think I can give you a comment that is fit to print in the newspaper," Pruitt said. "This makes me so mad."
