Liberal policy won't clean up graffiti: Stanhope

The ACT Government says the Liberal Party's policy for dealing with graffiti will not work.

The Government expects to release its own policy next month, including faster clean up of vandalism and promotion of legal art sites.

Chief Minister Jon Stanhope says the Liberal's get-tough approach will not work.

"Banning of spray cans, criminalising of the offence, seeking to prosecute young offenders for graffiti will not work," he said.

"We know that experience.

"We know that from the work we've done, it's not our approach."
