Police say two teen-agers who used a rock to scratch a tag name into the glass of an Arden Heights bus shelter Monday were known graffiti vandals who were caught in the act.

The names of the two 14-year-old boys arrested by officers from the South Shore 's 123rd Precinct were not released because of their ages. Both were charged with making graffiti and possession of a graffiti instrument.

Precinct Conditions Unit Officers Ronnie Galizia, John Hrankiwskyj and John Azzarello were on patrol near the bus shelter at the corner of Arden Avenue and Green Valley Road on Monday at about 1:30 p.m. , when they spotted one of the youths scratching a tag name into the glass with a rock.
