Teen pleads guilty to graffiti charge

CORPUS CHRISTI — A 17-year-old boy pleaded guilty Monday to a graffiti charge
and was placed on deferred adjudication by a district judge.
Richard Figueroa took responsibility for tagging Carroll Lane Elementary on Jan.
11, causing $750 worth of damage.
Judge Sandra Watts, judge of the 117th District Court, sentenced Figueroa to 30
days in the Nueces County Jail, three years probation and 120 hours of community
service. Figueroa also was ordered to pay $750 restitution and was given a
$1,000 fine.
He also will help to clean up graffiti in the community and will work with
Corpus Christi Police to teach others about the cons of graffiti.
