Vandals hit the bathrooms adjacent to the Guerrero Field in Hagatna this past weekend. Acting administrator of the Department of Parks & Recreation Joe Mendiola says the agency just painted over graffiti nearly two weeks ago. But this time around, not only did the culprit(s) spray paint over the walls, they also set one side of the wall on fire.

Mendiola says there is no other choice than to shut down the bathrooms, which he says may disappoint frequent users of the area. "The sad thing is that whoever did this thing doesn't realize that a lot of people use this place. So now this is going to force us to lock up this place when the attendance leaves," he told KUAM News.

In the past, the agency would leave the bathrooms open for the late hours. Meanwhile Mendiola says with the limited budget at the department, it's much harder for the agency to correct the problems created by vandals.
