Traders' fury as graffiti vandals strike

May 5 2004

VANDALS went on a Bank Holiday weekend wrecking spree and daubed shops with graffiti.

Traders in Whitchurch, Cardiff, returned after the May Day break to find yobs had painted graffiti all over their shop fronts.

It comes two months after the Echo reported that shop owners and residents in Whitchurch felt like prisoners in their own homes because of the spread of yob rule.

Trader Clive Noble, who owns Noble Music in Old Church Road, was fuming to discover his business had been used as a blank canvas for graffiti tags and said: "It happens every six months.

"We've been here for seven years and in that time we've had to increase our security."
