On the hunt for the culprits
Airdrie Echo — Airdrie
RCMP are on the hunt for the culprits who have left their
"fingerprints" in several locations around the city.
Over the past couple of weeks, graffiti has been turning up in several locations
around the community – on buildings, traffic signs and even vehicles, Airdrie
RCMP Sgt. Bruce Robertson said.
"We’re having lots of it," Robertson said.
The latest incident occurred on the weekend, when a semitrailer parked in front
of the westside McDonald’s Restaurant was defaced, Robertson said, adding that
it appears that the incidents are happening sometime during the night.
While some may consider graffiti a form of self-expression, it is vandalism
nonetheless and police – and those who have had their property marred –
would like to put an end to it.
With that in mind, Robertson encourages anyone with information to come forward.
"We’re just looking for the public’s general assistance in identifying
the suspects," he said. "If anybody has any information, they can
contact us or Crime Stoppers for a reward."
The Airdrie RCMP may be reached at 948-3220; the Crime Stoppers number is
1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
