Graffiti Increases As Weather Warms

Parks Department Makes Cleanup A Priority

PORTLAND -- As the sunny, warm weather increases, so does graffiti at Portland parks.

Families are noticing more graffiti and vandalism at northeast Portland's Glenhaven Park.

"The bathrooms, they just constantly are tagging them. The parks director paints them, and then they tag them again," Darlene Herrera told KOIN 6 News.

"It just gives the area a bad name, makes it look like you live in the ghetto."

The city parks department says it's a priority, and workers try to clean up the worst cases within 24 hours.
