Starting on the statue at Memorial Circle, a vandal or vandals painted some strong messages in downtown Binghamton earlier this month.

The vandals worked their way towards Wall Street and hit the Triple-A building in between. "They are pretty much anti-government, anti-war, some obsecenities, and some racism. There's even a symbol known as the anarchy symbol," says Binghamton Police Sgt. Terrance Reagan.

Also this month, a different type of graffiti starting appearing in downtown. Three different letter combinations, mostly likely the signature of the vandal, police say.

The vandals hit a Main Street business with the letters O-N-E-R twice this month. Then the combination C-O-N-D starting showing up on Court, State, Water, and Pine streets. Then the vandals moved east. "They painted the Salvation Army and another building at Court and Carroll and they painted some buildings inbetween. Also, some fences on Pine Street behind the Sheltered Workshop. They spell out the letters S-E-E-K, "seek," says Reagan.

Police think the vandalism could be the work of four different people or groups.

Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to 1-thousand dollars for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
