Graffiti vandals struck several places in Alamogordo Thursday night or early Friday morning.

Reports from the Alamogordo Department of Public Safety said that officers from the agency were involved in the investigation of 17 complaints of graffiti tagging.

Police said that the tagging was mostly done on block walls around the back yards of residences or walls facing the street.

Tagged walls were found from 18th Street at Washington Avenue up to College Avenue. The tagging then continues south on College Avenue to 15th Street and from 15th Street and College Avenue east to Scenic Drive. From Scenic Drive, the incidents continued south to McKinley Avenue and then west to Hendrix Avenue. From there the taggers moved south on Hendrix, across 10th Street and west on Bellamah Drive. It appears, police said, that the graffiti stopped at the facility of the Otero County Boys and Girls Club.

The investigation has found that most of the incidents happened after 7 p.m. Thursday, March 18.

Police have no suspects in the incidents and an investigation is ongoing
