Graffiti Plagues Valley Cities
(CBS 5 News) - Painters are about to hit the streets of the Valley erasing the
graffiti left behind Wednesday night.
Currently, graffiti complaints are at an all-time high and crews in Phoenix are
running two weeks behind. Most valley cities like to clean up a site within 48
hours.
Calls to the Phoenix hotline increased 30 percent last year for a total of
34,000 graffiti removal jobs.
Valley officials are pushing for tougher control countywide over spray paint
cans and certain markers. Those items must be locked up and not sold to anyone
under 18 in Phoenix, Tempe and Glendale.
Litchfield Park City Council will vote on a similar law next month.
