The Clark County Commission is considering a new law that would ban juveniles from possessing aerosol sprayers, paint sticks and other items used to draw or etch graffiti on public and private property.

Commission chairman Rory Reid proposed the ordinance that would apply to anyone 18 years of age or younger.

Similar ordinances exist in the cities of Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas.

The county spends about one million dollars a year to remove graffiti from public property.

County officials say 13,000 homes were vandalized with graffiti last year.

The commission will hold a public hearing tomorrow on the proposed law.
