New efforts to crack down on graffiti
The Honolulu City Council wants to establish a reward program to help crack down
on graffiti.
The proposed law would allow rewards of up to $500 to citizens who turn in
graffiti offenders for prosecution.
The widespread problem of graffiti is also fueling a separate law that would
double the allowable fine for graffiti artists, from the current $1,000 to
$2,000.
Council members will vote to advance both graffiti measures next Wednesday.
