Graffiti Vandals Attack Fire House

While firefighters worked to control fires, a fire station near Ulladulla was attacked by vandals.

Vandals used red paint to graffiti the walls of the Cudmirrah-Berrara fire station, with one piece of graffiti reaching two metres high.

Brigade captain Michael Newans says the fire crew was devastated when it returned in the early hours of Sunday morning to find the station damaged.

Mr Newans says the volunteer crew, who built the station with the community, is shocked by the attack.

"It looks like 'stinking town' and another part of it says 'Ulladulla Boys' but they couldn't spell Ulladulla," he said.

"We're here to do a community service. We fundraise for ourselves, we volunteer, we spend all night out protecting people's property and their houses. This sort of thing is just a senseless act."
