Graffiti Problem Plagues Fort Lauderdale

MIAMI -- Graffiti has become an unwanted art form, spray-painted on buildings
and parks throughout Fort Lauderdale.
Catching the graffiti artists in the act has been nearly impossible, until now.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department recently received an $11,000 grant to help
clean up the graffiti.
With that cash, the police department purchased eight high-tech video
surveillance cameras and installed them at popular graffiti spots throughout the
city.
The video resolution is so crisp that police have been able to zoom in and
identify graffiti artists in the act.
So far three suspects have been arrested and police hope to catch several more,
once the department receives four additional cameras en route.
