A historic neighborhood under renovation is trashed by vandals.

Now, it looks like the City will have to pay even more to clean up the mess, after paying more than a million dollars over the last few years to improve the appearance of the King William district.

“We’ve been waiting in this neighborhood here for 36 years for something to be done,” Kind William resident Roger Berry told NEWS 4 WOAI’s Natalie Tejeda.

But vandals struck, tagging the area with graffiti. Residents are upset, but realistic.

“I don’t know if it is not going to end,” said Berry, “but I think something could be done to end it or decrease it to a degree.”

The cost of cleanup is unknown at this point.
