NEW YORK -- A notorious graffiti vandal will be tagged with a six-month jail
term for scarring New York City's overpasses, vehicles, schools and homes with
his spray-painted nickname.
Prosecutors said Oliver Siandre, known by the street tag Kiko, pleaded guilty
Thursday to felony criminal mischief.
He admitted he traveled to Queens to vandalize public and private property in
two neighborhoods.
He is expected to be sentenced Dec. 7 to six months in jail and five years of
probation. He's also required to pay $25,000 to the city and the owners of the
homes and businesses he damaged.
Siandre admitted that in late 2005 he spray-painted his tag and his crew's name,
Crazy 8, or C-8, on schools, trees, parks, overpasses and garages.
Siandre's attorney, Frank Rothman, said his client's guilt was never at issue,
but he wanted an appropriate sentence.
City Councilman Peter Vallone Jr. wanted Siandre sent to a state prison for one
to three years.
