SANTA ROSA (BCN)
Santa Rosa police have arrested an 18-year old man suspected of several hundred
acts of vandalism and graffiti in Sonoma County and San Francisco.
Sgt. Lisa Banayat said the serial vandal, who uses the tag name "El Barto'' or
"Bart,'' is 18-year-old Saif Senussi Azzuz. He was arrested at his Ridgeway
Avenue residence today, Lisa Banayat said.
Azzuz was booked under $100,000 bail into the Sonoma County jail on multiple
felony vandalism charges, Banayat said.
Police found evidence at Azzuz's residences of spray cans, markers, drawings
similar to those used in the vandalism, and photographs of the acts of vandalism
he allegedly committed with others, Banayat said. It's estimated the vandalism
to businesses, residences, freeways, signs and fences caused $100,000 damage,
Banayat said.
Azzuz's graffiti targets allegedly included the K rail on the U.S. Highway 101
widening project, a residence at 1215 Humboldt St. and the Redwood Regional
Medical Group at 2245 Montgomery Drive in Santa Rosa, Banayat said.
